Our Story
In 1965, -- inside his home garage -- Robert Earl Connell started making custom, hand-crafted cabinets. His philosophy? Love what you do & give people your best!
Mr Connell's love for his craft was evident as he rapidly developed a reputation for fine craftsmanship and excellence. After a short time he outgrew the small garage and moved to a new location in downtown Lakeland -- this time adding his son, Phillip, to his team of master craftsmen. In 1979, Connell Cabinets settled into the former high school gymnasium where, after many years of steady expansion, they now remain and have a manufacturing facility of over 75,000 square feet dedicated to producing some of the Souths most beautifully handcrafted cabinetry and millwork.
In 1985, Connell Cabinets incorporated and, after working with the family business since he was 15 years old, Phillip Connell became President of the company and took over all operations. Since that time he has expanded Connell Cabinets' customer base beyond the Southeast and into areas throughout the United States as well as into the Bahamas. Phillips passion for the craft and strong work ethic has gained him the reputation of being one of the most respected cabinet makers in the Southeast. Connell Cabinets & Millworks Inc is proud to be founded on hard work, stellar craftsmanship and strong family tradition.
